Year After Year...

Here are a couple of samples featuring the Year After Year stamp set (page 57). Both of these great cards were made by my friend and fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Melanie.

This wedding card is beautiful... Soft Sky is the perfect colour for this with some Winter White and Silver Emboss Powder. Melanie used a couple of other new stamp sets on this card - Baroque Motifs for the fantastic background and Hugs & Wishes for the "congratulations". Notice how she did the nice scalloped edge on the bottom using the Corner Rounder Punch along with some paper piercing. You can go back to a previous post here to see how to do this. And, you'll have to check out the inside of this card the next time you see it at a class - Melanie added a nice touch of this scalloped edged inside!

The baby card is a great layout that could be used in so many different ways. Embossing the elephants and greeting in Winter White Emboss Powder makes them pop off the card stock. The Word Window Punch pieces secured with coordinating brads add the perfect touch. The greeting comes from the Curvy Verses stamp set and she's added some fun background stamps on each of the pieces - Canvas, Floral and Word by Word.

Word by Word is a stamp that you won't find in the current catalogue, but the good news is that it's still available... there are a few sets that Stampin' Up! placed on a "dormant list". These are still available to order. You can see a list of stamp sets on the dormant list by clicking here. There are lots of favourites still on this list:

Okay, so I'm not doing such a great job of keeping up with my blog... I had good intentions, but time has just been slipping by as I've been keeping busy. Things will settle back down to "normal" after the September long weekend and I'll be able to get back to stamping and my more usual routine. Thanks for bearing with me!

Oh, one more thing, I've been contemplating my class schedule for the fall - if there are any classes you'd like to see, please let me know! Flower power!

Hello stampin' friends! I've been missing in action for a while... sorry that I went so long between posts!! I've just been really busy with lots of things. I thought I would share a few different flowery cards tonight... One of the reasons that I was a bit busy was that last weekend we did some work in our yard and around the outside of our house. I planted a little flower bed and now we have plans to extend it all the way down the fence in our front yard. Not sure when we'll get that project done, but we're excited about it!

Okay, onto the cards... this first one is a swap card that I received from my good friend, Suzanne. It uses the Double Line Doodles stamp set.

The next three are cards that my Mom stamped. This first one uses the Year After Year and Hugs & Wishes stamp sets. She added in some of the Prints Designer Series Paper in So Saffron to create a quick and easy background strip.


This card has been around for a while, but it's such a nice one, I thought I'd post it here. It uses the Looks Like Spring set - I don't use this set nearly enough so I'm going to try to remember to dig it out for the next Stamp-A-Stack. Mom loves buttons so this card is a favourite of hers! The middle flower is cut out to add some dimension to the card and it's centre is made using the Spring Bouquet Flower Punch.


This card is stamped with the Blossoms Abound stamp set. This is a fairly easy card... the brads and ribbon add some interesting details.

Similar layouts... very different cards

I was flipping through my card samples tonight looking for something to post and I pulled out these two cards... one that I made several months ago and one that I just designed for a class that I had a couple of weeks ago. I scanned them and was editing them when I realized that they were very similar in layout... Isn't that interesting?

The first card was stamped using Bud Basics - a set that was in a mini catalogue and has now made it into our main catalogue... The greeting comes from the It's Your Birthday stamp set. This is a very quick card and could easily be changed with different colours - this one is made in Bashful Blue with Close to Cocoa and Sage Shadow.

This card uses the Simply Said stamp set which I've always been fold of - I really like the unique look of this flower stamp and I love the greetings. I used Cameo Coral, Barely Banana and Certainly Celery for this one...

I'm very much looking forward to the long weekend... we have lots planned for our weekend and I'm sure we'll end up finding that it wasn't quite long enough in the end! We're looking forward to Symphony Splash on Sunday night... Whatever your plans are for the long weekend, I hope you have fun!
